Job Detail

We are one of the largest veterinary practices within Essex and north-east London. Our mission is to provide compassionate and high-quality care for our pets and their families. And because of this, Animal Ark’s loyal client base has continued to grow.

Your role and responsibilities

The Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse (Lead RVN) Theatre and Anaesthesia Nurse role is key to the business’s ability to provide a high level of clinical standards.

As Lead RVN you will ensure that our patients are managed as effectively as possible from a nursing perspective to ensure we deliver outstanding animal welfare and to support the profitability and further growth of the practice. Working enthusiastically with your team you will help maintain a happy, efficient working environment whilst providing outstanding patient and client care.

You will need to have a passion for everything surgical, ensuring we deliver a high standard of nursing care from time of admission right through to patient aftercare. As Lead RVN we would like you to continue to grow and develop the nursing team and encourage our Registered Veterinary Nurses to utilise their nursing qualifications to the fullest.

A keen interest in developing a plan for schedule 3 procedures would be a bonus as we would like to increase nurse procedures to allow vets more time to focus on more complex cases.

At Animal Ark our patients come first, no day is the same and we need a Lead RVN that can adapt to any challenges that may arise to ensure all our patients have the best stay at our hospital.

As Lead RVN you will need to be approachable and encourage your team to deliver your high standards of nursing on a daily basis.

Hours – Average 40hr/week rolling rota, including 1 in 3 weekends and shared OOH for inpatients only.
